The new four day family friendly festival which runs from 31st May- June 3rd is aimed at promoting Galway as a leading maritime centre..Festival organisers have unveiled an impressive list of water based activities and about town events all of which are either affordable to attend or free..From beach safaris to seafood trails, sandcastle competitions to windsurfing, day cruises and tours of the Irish Naval vessel LE Aoife, there will be something to attract even the most committed land lover!.A highlight of the festival weekend will be the Galway Sea Festival Regatta featuring the Galway Bay Sailing Club with spectacular Parades of Sail into Galway Harbour on the Friday and Saturday evenings. Adding colour will be the Traditional Boat Regatta from Badoiri na Cladaigh with special guest the Naomh Barbara skippered by Steve Mulkerrins who is travelling from Chicago for this flagship Galway Gathering event.
