  • It was a season of firsts that Music for Galway’s new artistic director, international concert pianist Finghin Collins unveiled at the Shed at Galway Docks on Monday night. At this unusual venue, he presented an exciting programme that includes a great variety of musical delights to intrigue and attract devoted music-lovers and newcomers alike for the MUSIC FOR GALWAY 33RD  SEASON.  <br />
Music for Galway have honoured Finghin’s predecessor Jane O’Leary by commissioning her to write a solo piano piece which will be premiered by Korean pianist Ah Ruem Ahn on November14th.  There is also the Irish premiere, on October 30th, of Ian Wilson’s “The Little Spanish Prison” by David Cohen and Sasha Grynyuk. Both composers will be present to introduce their works on the night.
