NOTE

Over 400 budding young Galway writers recognised for their literary talents at this year’s Scriobh Leabhair / Write A Book awards.

This county-wide writing project, run by the Galway Education Centre, sees thousands of entries from national school children each year. From Junior Infants right through to 6th Class pupils, the children are encouraged to let their imaginations soar as they develop the storyline, write the narrative, illustrate the story and produce their own original book, with as much emphasis on the physical production of the manuscript as on the imaginative and literary skills the project entails.
