They also got to view different sheep breeds and learn about their attributes and role in Irish farming. They took part in interactive exhibits to learn about different grass and clover species and nitrogen fixation, as well as hear about career options in the agri-food industry.<br />

Students from local schools at ‘A Festival of Farming and Food’ organised by Teagasc, Athenry, Co Galway, in association with Science Foundation Ireland for Science Week. Students attended from Presentation College, Athenry; St Killian’s Vocational School, New Inn; Vocational School, Athenry.<br />
Students got an insight into how science is being used to address reproduction and parasitism issues in sheep. They also got to view different sheep breeds and learn about their attributes and role in Irish farming. They took part in interactive exhibits to learn about different grass and clover species and nitrogen fixation, as well as hear about career options in the agri-food industry.<br />
