On Saturday 10th September, all are invited to a ‘Concert of Hope’ in St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church in Galway.
The concert has been organised by local choirs, including Medtronic Chorale, Moycullen Enchants, The Baytones and Limorahaun Singers to support the work of Pieta House. Special guest singer Diarmuid Sutton will lead a special Finale performance.

Medtronic Chorale, under the direction of Ronan DeBurca, is the anchor choir for the event. Medtronic employees at Parkmore selected Pieta House West as their ‘Charity of the Year’ and, aligned with their mission, supports the charity in promoting suicide awareness and prevention as well as fundraising.

“We are truly grateful to everyone who comes up with initiatives to highlight the work that we’re doing at Pieta House, to get the message out to anyone in need that our services are here,” said Pieta House CEO Brian Higgins, who is due to arrive in Galway on Tuesday September 6 on his `Pieta Grand Tour’ rickshaw road-trip across Ireland.

“Thanks to everyone behind the Concert of Hope – and our supporters and fundraisers across Connacht and Ireland – we are able to keep our services free and are so happy to say that 25,000 people have accessed our services for free since the day we opened a decade ago.”

Pieta House was established in Lucan, Co Dublin, 2006 and celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year. It provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. Pieta now has 18 centres across Ireland, including eight suicide bereavement centres.
